This book attempts to change the mental pattern and the governing paradigm in the development of business, entrepreneurship and employment. As networked communications have evolved, we have increasingly drawn upon organizational designs that are more decentralized. Modern forms of businesses have experienced massive growth in the last decade such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Uber, and Airbnb; they have gathered a network of players and partners around a central platform and work in a dynamic ecosystem. A business ecosystem is made up of interdependent firms that collectively provide goods and services to their customers. This book aims to study different types of ecosystems with a focus on business ecosystems.
