The use of information and communication technologies play a constructive role in the efficiency and effectiveness of organizations, but also brought many ethical problems. Therefore it is necessary to consider information technology ethics in order to utilizing the opportunities of using information technology with regard to its risks and threats. In fact, the ethics of information technology is one of the important areas in the ethics of science and technology. Information technology ethics in the broadest sense can be considered as a branch of applied ethics that analyzes the social and ethical impact of ICT. The importance of such issues in a complex world today, encourage many related experts and practitioners to thought and research in this field. This book deals with critical review of information technology ethics literature in the seven-chapter. In the first chapter we review the ethics from different perspectives, and the studies of ethical issues in the field of information technology in the world and Iran, analyzed and compared. In the second chapter, the concept of the information society as a post-industrial society discussed and drivers towards the information society are expressed. The third chapter is an overview of the social and moral developments in the information society. In the fourth quarter, the most important ethical challenges and solutions of information technology critically analyzed. In the fifth chapter, the most important issues of information technology ethics from the expert’s point of views explored and critically analyzed. In the sixth chapter entitled a strategic approach for the development of guidelines on information technology ethics, domestic and foreign efforts in order to fill the policy gaps caused by new features and facilities of information and communication technology are mentioned. In the seventh chapter with a quick look at the evolution of information technology ethics, following the formation of the issues raised in this territory, the vision of information technology ethics is outlined. This book can be used by students of Information Technology Management, Information Technology Engineering, Computer and related fields.
